Advent 2020: Day Twenty Five

The Shepherds hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph.  And there was the baby, lying in a manager.  (Luke 2:16)

The wise men entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him.

Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  When it was time to leave they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod. (Matthew 2:11-12)

 

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Four

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod.

About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him."

....King Herod told them, "Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child.  And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!"

After this interview the wise men went their way. .  And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem.  It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was".

When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!  (Matthew 2:1 - 10)

 

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Three

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them.  They were terrified, but the angel reassured them.  "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.  

The Saviour - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognise him by this sign.  You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger."

...the shepherds said to each other, "Let's go to Bethlehem!  Let's see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about". (Luke 8 - 15)

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Two

Edward has been exploring and discovered a giant Father Christmas...

He hopes he is going to deliver to the children of Sasha Haven.

He admires the Christmas tree.

The lights glowing highlight his Christmas waistcoat.

He joins the others and admires the Christmas sleigh.

A lot of fun is going to be had!

 

Advent 2020: Day Twenty One

Sweet Mary Ellen chose green for Advent Day Twenty One.

This beautiful girl looks good in green as do a lot of redheads.

What have you got there Peggy Sue?  Mary Ellen asked.

This is our little Elf.  Peggy Sue tells Mary Ellen.  Would you like to hold him?

Yes please.  Mary Ellen replies.

The girls head off chatting... I wonder where they will put the little elf?

Do you think we should get him to spy on the boys?

My sweet redhead Course doll Jessica is dressed in green standing proudly by the Christmas Day for Advent Day 20.

She is wearing a crocheted hat made by my lovely DIL.

That's better we can see your lovely eyes now.

Francis certainly knows how to dress well.

He joins Rory and Albert and admires the tree.

He thinks they have done a pretty fine job of decorating the tree.

Marcia was happy (despite her look!) to be the Sasha to represent Advent Day Thirteen.

She is wearing her favourite red jumper/sweater teamed with her red sandals and glittery santa hat.

She joins Albert and Rory in the decorating of the tree.

They think it is starting to look good and ask her what she thinks.
