Year 2020 Roundup

Well it has been a year with a difference alright!

I started this new Sasha blog so I could focus on the Sasha and Gregor family more and to reflect our move to the Isle of Wight...not completely sure if it was the right thing to do or not, but it is done, so there you go.  I'm not entirely convinced about the layout either, so that too may have a revamp.  I am not sure how easy it is for people to find the blog posts, as compared to my previous blog layouts.  Actually from writing the sentences above, I have changed the format and hope that it is easier to find and read the blog posts.  As it turns out I didn't actually blog much this year, my interest in dolls had waned a lot, and I just couldn't find the focus to do anything with them.  I have however enjoyed getting them out and dressing them up for Christmas and look forward to doing more with them in the New Year.

A few photos of the Christmas scenes.

A few highlights from the year:

I had one new Sasha/Gregor arrival this year, which was back in July when 'the new boy' arrived.   He was delighted to be chosen in December to be one of the 'Wise Men' for the Nativity Advent Series I posted.

Henry started his own series of 'Walking on Wednesday', which he is hoping to resume in the New Year.

There will be other themes as follows:

Tea for Two Tuesday

Selling on Saturday - where I will feature Sasha and Gregor items that will be available to purchase.

I'm hoping to focus more on my blog in the New Year.  I still don't like the new blogger, everything seems to take at least twice as long to do on it and I don't think it is as user friendly, but short of changing for something else entirely I have no choice but to put up with it.

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Five

The Shepherds hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph.  And there was the baby, lying in a manager.  (Luke 2:16)

The wise men entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him.

Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  When it was time to leave they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod. (Matthew 2:11-12)

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Four

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod.

About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him."

....King Herod told them, "Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child.  And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!"

After this interview the wise men went their way. .  And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem.  It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was".

When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!  (Matthew 2:1 - 10)

Advent 2020: Day Twenty Three

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them.  They were terrified, but the angel reassured them.  "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.

The Saviour - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognise him by this sign.  You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger."

...the shepherds said to each other, "Let's go to Bethlehem!  Let's see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about". (Luke 8 - 15)

Advent 2020: Day Twenty One

Sweet Mary Ellen chose green for Advent Day Twenty One.

This beautiful girl looks good in green as do a lot of redheads.

What have you got there Peggy Sue?  Mary Ellen asked.

This is our little Elf.  Peggy Sue tells Mary Ellen.  Would you like to hold him?

Yes please.  Mary Ellen replies.

The girls head off chatting... I wonder where they will put the little elf?

Do you think we should get him to spy on the boys?

An Advent Afternoon Tea

Some of the Sasha Haven Children were delighted to be invited to an afternoon Advent Tea.

Gifts were given and Emily and Everlee Rose admire the lovely packaging...

They thought it was almost too good to open.

Henry joins the girls and they meet Stella who was one of the hosts of the afternoon.

Henry also was delighted to meet up with FredErik again but apparently the humans were far too busy talking to take many photos which was a shame for them, as they had a great time together and would have liked to have shared more photos.  Perhaps next time the silly grownups will get their acts into gear and take more photos.

Advent 2020: Day Sixteen

The trio of blondes putting some more decorations on the tree

They are as happy as can be.

Happy St George's Day

Revisiting a post from 2012!  However the sentiment is just the same! Henry threw himself into the whole  St George's Day celebration to...
